Houston Landlords Demanding Rent: Raw Story, citing The Guardian newspaper, claims some Houston landlords are demanding their tenants pay rent even though their dwellings have been destroyed by Hurricane Harvey floodwaters.

One resident tells the sites; “At first we didn’t think it would be that bad, but then the water came through the wall and up through the carpet. Once we saw the water wasn’t going to stop, we left. Our landlords say we have to pay rent and late fees and every day it is going up. We are paying rent for somewhere we can’t live in. They said ‘you aren’t the only ones in this situation’, but what are we supposed to do? We don’t have any money. We don’t have anything.”

Dear Fonseca:

I returned to work yesterday only to get into an argument with one of my managers. She criticized me for wearing white after Labor Day. She’s just jealous because she’s curvy and wears black to hide her size. There is nothing in our employee handbook that says I can’t wear white after Labor Day. She says it’s an unspoken rule and unprofessional. I say ‘if you got it, flaunt it’. Who cares what time of the year it is. Who’s right – me or her?
